Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is suitable for learners who are using IT within their job and will develop understanding and build confidence in the use of IT and allows learners to demonstrate their ability in areas chosen from the range of ITQ units which can be taken at a variety of levels and gives flexibility to enable the qualification to match job roles. The qualification will allow learners to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to a level recognised by employers, thus proving competence in their job role.
This qualification provides the apprentice with the competence, skills and knowledge to work effectively and efficiently with IT systems, communication and productivity tools and software applications. This includes the creation and amendment of many types of formatted information including documents, diagrams, spreadsheets and presentations. It also includes maintaining simple websites, using the internet to find and exchange information and using social media to disseminate information.
While the main role of the Apprentice is the application of IT this may occur in the context of a range of situations and industry sectors such as:
- Office/Business Administration
- Accounts departments
- Publishing or multimedia
- Sales and Marketing departments
- Education and training
How long is the course?
How is the course delivered?
You will be assigned a personal tutor who will plan an individual learning programme with you based around monthly tutorials. This will be through a mix of one to one tutorials, workshops and distance learning. A variety of assessment methods are used, including formal observations, professional discussions, multiple choice on-line tests and workbook based questions.
What are the entry requirements for the course?
You should be aged 16 or over. There are no minimum academic or vocational qualifications required but a good general standard of education is beneficial.
What could I do after this course?
Depending on your circumstances, you may wish to consider an advanced, level 3 programme in an area such as Business and Administration or Management.
Apprenticeship Levy paying companies can use their levy to cover the full cost of training. Companies who do not pay the Apprenticeship Levy will contribute 5% of the full value of the programme, the balance (95%) is contributed by the government. Contact us to confirm the value.
